On Sunday, August 16, the 38th Annual America’s Finest City Half Marathon will be run starting at 7:00 AM at Cabrillo National Monument and ending in Balboa Park. The event benefits the Cabrillo National Monument Foundation, Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and other local charities.

As you probably are aware, a portion of the race course is on Harbor Island. Because of the number of runners (approximately 6,000) there will be a period of time when the San Diego Police Department and the Harbor Police will delay or stop all vehicular traffic when runners are on Harbor Island. These delays and/or street closures will occur between 7:35 and 8:55 AM. A map and a schedule of possible street closure times are attached so that employees who may be affected can adjust their schedule to arrive at work on time.

As in the past, we endeavor to minimize any disruption to businesses on Harbor Island. The race is run early, and is completely clear of the Harbor Island area by approximately 8:55 AM. Over 3,000 of our entrants are from out of the county, and many stay in the Harbor Island – Shelter Island area.

Thank you for your cooperation and your support of this nationally recognized community event.
